La Reina del Sur could be the story of Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo), a little daughter woman introduced with the day of 23 when she actually is managing her boyfriend, "El Güero" (Rafael Amaya), a drug trafficker and rising star within the Sinaloa cartel. After El Güero is assassinated, Teresa gets to be a telephone call telling her to own. She trades El Güero's business ledger to Vargas in exchange for his help fleeing the country.
